Assign tasks and work:

- Lead and generally direct all activities of the Department according to the functions and tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee; Responsible to the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology for carrying out the functions, tasks and powers of the Director according to the provisions of law; Be a spokesperson for the Department and provide information to the press according to regulations;

- Directly direct and urge the implementation of directions of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Provincial People's Committee and Ministry of Science and Technology;

- Preside and direct the development of legal documents, strategies, planning, plans, programs, schemes, policy mechanisms, scientific and technological potential;

- Directly direct and monitor work areas:

+ Develop plans and programs for inspection, anti-corruption, resolve complaints and denunciations and receive citizens about science and technology;

+ Administrative reform - agency management; building electronic government and digital transformation. Organizational, staffing and emulation and commendation work of the Department;

+ Develop, allocate estimates and finalize budget; Finance, accounting and agency account management;

+ Scientific research and technology development management activities, projects to develop the potential of science and technology; research - deployment, testing activities; activities of collecting, registering, storing, and announcing tasks and results of science and technology tasks;

+ State management activities on technology; appraise and give opinions on technology for investment projects in the province;

+ Performing duties: Chairman of the Emulation and Commendation Council; Commander of the Military Police Department; Head of the Steering Committee for implementing the Department's Democratic Regulations.

- Responsible for publishing scientific and technological information publications and responsible for the Department's electronic information page;

- Carry out the duties and responsibilities of a member of the Provincial People's Committee as assigned by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. 

The focal point maintains regular contact with the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee; maintain working relationships with superior Party agencies and the Department's Party Committee according to current regulations;

-Directly direct and monitor activities: Department of Science and Technology Management, Department of Planning and Finance, Department of Inspection and General Administration.

- Perform other tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee. Participate in Councils and Steering Committees as assigned by the Provincial People's Committee;

- In charge of monitoring science and technology activities of Song Cau town, Dong Hoa and Son Hoa district.
